His exceptional talent in portraiture captures the essence, personality and character of the subject. His ability to show an athlete in motion as well as the emotion at a specific moment in time, is beyond words. Crumbly's paintings show the power and passion that is put into the images and the paintings actually appear to move on the canvas.  The appearance of movement and the extraordinary attention to detail holds the patron's eye. One has to physically view his captivating art works to truly appreciate his talent.  Crumbly has been commissioned by some of the Worlds top sports figures, several dignitaries in the United States, The National Rifle Association, The International Soft Ball Federation and many others.  Crumbly is also very active in his community and surrounding areas belonging to many organizations,  helping non-profit foundations and worthy causes.

In sharp contrast to many artists before him, Crumbly*s talent and love of art occurred completely by accident and was preceded by a tragedy. As a child, Greg had his right hand impaled by a glass spike. As the tendons healed his doctor recommended that he either draw or write as physical therapy to regain the use of said hand. As a result of this therapy, Crumbly discovered his amazing talent.
Greg graduated from Bucknell University in 1980 with a degree in Psychology and Art History. He joined the United States Army and received special Ranger training and saw combat in Panama, Nicaragua and Grenada. Crumbly attended Fort Rucker, Alabama for flight and officer training. Crumbly left the Army Rangers after his helicopter was shot down.

Greg then joined the Pittsburgh Police Department in January of 1990, but was immediately sent on to the Pennsylvania State Police Academy graduating at the top of his class. He served as a forensic detective until 1997 when, with his background in psychology and special interviewing skills combined with his artistic abilities were utilized as an investigator and composite artist not only on the local and state level but also with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Crumbly found art as a profession due to early retirement from the police department due to a gunshot wound received in the line of duty.

Now, Greg Crumbly, The Sports Artist, has investors throughout the world collecting his very limited edition, hand signed Giclees and canvassed prints.
